Evolution’s primary mission is to engage and accelerate high-quality seed stage MVBs from across the Globe with a concentration on Northern California. While we have several internal infrastructure reporting flows to help produce the most effective and efficient programming, all actions are carried out with one goal in mind - accelerate our companies to the next level of liquidity confident and fully prepared.

With the help of other key partners, we are also able to ensure that our entrepreneurs have the world-class resources and human capital that will help advance them to the next level of financing, while on their way to creating game-changing success.

Meet Our Mentors


Alex Chompff

Executive Director

I have been working closely with entrepreneurs for over 20 years. After serving as a United States Marines, I directed technology for the world's largest venture capital firms throughout the height of the .com boom, supporting many funded startups through their initial-growth cycles. Since then, I have co-founded several startups, designed and administers the IT Portfolio Management System of the CA State Legislature. Today, I work with a team of mentors and investors to help early-stage entrepreneurs establish viable businesses.

Rich Horan

Mentor Co-Chair

Colonel (Ret.) Richard Horan is the director of the Sacramento Capital Region Chapter of the COO Forum, a peer exchange and thought leadership group of second-in-command executives. An active Angel Investor, I support local entrepreneurs as a mentor and advisor, helping them refine and execute their strategy. I serve my local community as vice chair of the Yolo County Financial Oversight Committee (FOC). I have a BA in Photography from Brooks Institute, an MS in Administration from Central Michigan University, and an MBA from Washington University in St Louis. I am a NACD Governance Fellow and has attended the Stanford Directors College.

Matt Lambie

Mentor Co-Chair

Mr. Lambie is the Founder of OPFI Advisory Solutions, LLC located in Sacramento. OPFI is an operational and financial advisory business specializing in strategy, project management and interim leadership roles. Between 2003-2005, I was an Assurance Senior with Grant Thornton, LLP auditing and consulting with manufacturing and real estate clients. I have served as a Sutter Health, Habitat for Humanity and LLS fundraising volunteer.as well as a voluntary committee member with the Sacramento Valley Manufacturing Initiative focusing on workforce development. As a Certified Public Accountant and I have a B.S. in Business Administration & Master’s in Accounting from Marquette University. I live with his wife in Sacramento, CA and enjoy boating, biking, golfing, fishing, hunting, general outdoors, traveling, healthy eating and exercise.

Patrick Bumbus

Marketing Director

Throughout my career, I have been promoting brands and businesses through marketing and advertising. I'm passionate about helping businesses develop and/or improve their digital strategies; online marketing programs; integrated marketing programs; and new customer acquisition campaigns. I have strong leadership and decision-making abilities, and am comfortable working as part of a team or taking the initiative and working autonomously. My previous experience working as a Director of Marketing & Creative gave me a plethora of marketing and leadership experience. I have an excellent track record of expanding the top of the funnel with interested prospects and converting sales ready prospects who are interested in joining.

Marsha Rogers

Member Services Director

Masha is an educator and technologist who has been an active part of the entrepreneurial community for 12 years. She is a Business Technology Adjunct Professor for local colleges such as Cosumnes River, MTI, and Sierra College, as well as government roles. After leaving the US Army, she began working with her first startup.  They quickly became Nashville's fastest growing tech company, growing from 5 employees to 35 in under 3 years. She has handled HR and corporate logistics as well as event promotions, SEO, and email marketing campaigns. She is passionate about giving back to the community and working with motivated, goal-oriented teams.
